I have years (decades) of experience in Healthy Psychology, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, Chemical Dependency (substance abuse) and Dual Diagnosis treatment.

One of my strengths is in helping couples find trust in each other again after a betrayal.  Sometimes couples have secrets and those secrets can hurt when they come out.  They always come out.  When a violation of trust, large or small, occurs it’s important to examine the conditions that contributed to the situation and to engage in a healing process that will restore trust and goodwill to the relationship. Sessions are focused on increasing trust and can be for with one individual or for the couple, or both. You will learn about how to reduce shame, defensiveness, anger, and increase intimacy, commitment and love. It can be healed if you both work on it. One person needs to be apologetic and make amends.  One person needs to be willing to forgive and trust again. I am here as your guide to figure this out.  You are not alone.

Another one of my interests is in helping people live fully with chronic health conditions.  I especially like to help with "invisible disabilities"; such as, Cardiac & heart health, Cancer, Diabetes, CRPS & RSD, back, neck & knee issues, hand/finger/wrist issues, and vision issues, all of which I have experienced myself.   Alcohol & Addictions are often a part of anyone's life and opioids are getting out of control.. I see addiction as needing to be treated from the mind'body-spirit combination of treatments. I can also help with performing an intervention on a family member so that you can help them to get into recovery.  Later in life, we must deal with Dementia, Parkinsons, and Alzheimers Disease.  Sometimes we feel squeezed between taking care of our elders and taking care of our children (the "sandwich generation"). I can help explain how these diseases can be diagnosed, and how to help your family deal with the changes.

I enjoy teaching and modeling self-management skills, self-care concepts, resources and tools related to health, lifestyle change and behavior modification.  I also have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical records, technical procedures, and would like to work with your physician, PA, and NP as a team to help you be as friendly with your body as possible.  I can also help your spouse or family understand what you are going through.

Remember, I am a Psychologist, not a Psychiatrist, and I do not prescribe medications.  But, I can refer people to experts in differing mental health issues, such as the ones I described earlier here.

Whether this is the beginning or the end of your journey, I hope you use a support team to help you get to where you want to be.
